The basic idea why I looked around for a new camera was very simple: to unload all the heavy gear and go lighter! The Micro Four Thirds are more compact and lighter as any DSLR. Finally, the Olympus OM-D E-M10 made the race and is now my newest addition in the photo family.

This camera is very well built and almost as comfortable to use as my Nikon. The electronic viewfinder is bright and large and with all the information I need to see there. The AF is super-fast and accurate and the built-in image stabilizer very effective. As already known from other OM-D cameras, the picture quality is on a very high level and in my opinion not behind a good APS-C camera. Especially at high ISO the sensor shows surprisingly little noise. A built-in WiFi combined with the Olympus App on your smartphone allows to control the camera remotely without any additional equipment and costs, this is really cool. HDR mode, Live-Bulb mode, a neat bracketing function, 8 fps , 3-inch touch screen and much more.

Together with the very slim 14- 42mm pancake Olympus offers a great and attractive kit and the 40-150mm is a compact completion too. I was in Venice and had it with me so photos will follow!
