Let’s start the blog with a story about a night-photography session in the mountains.
Until recently, I didn’t seriously concerned with night-photography. But now it was time to change this! Ok… now what I need for night photography? Correctly, night…and some knowledge about it – would help. Stars wouldn’t be bad either, the more the merrier. As little as possible stray light is requirement.
Where can I get all that? Good that everywhere around me are mountains! I thought immediately at the Silvretta Mountains. So far away from the artificial light as possible. A great place even by day. A road leading up to 2037 meters to the water reservoir. Huge thing!
Usually it’s more funny to take photos with some likeminded so I asked my photographers friends if they are in. Next evening we were on the road. After one and half-hour we reached the goal. The weather and sky were perfectly and the temperature tolerable. 15 minutes later, we found a good position and setup our cameras. After some time we got it better and better. Summarized: long exposure means a lot of fun and and patience but…it’s handy if you drink a beer, for example :) I’ll certainly repeat it!
Shot with Nikon D7000 and Sigma 10-20mm f/4.0-5.6
